Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program- Education -(SNAP-Ed) Program

Are you concerned about choosing good foods for your family?

  • Do you know that healthy foods can be low in cost, easy to make and taste good?
  • Do you know what to eat if you have health problems?
  • Do you have trouble making foods stamps last the whole month?  

You can learn this through participating in SNAP-Ed. You can participate in SNAP-Ed in one of these ways:

  • Attend group classes
  • Receive individual lessons in your home
  • View lessons on a DVD disk or video cassette at home on your TV or computer
  • View lessons on the internet
  • Receive lesson in the mail (newsletter)  

The Food Guide Pryamid

The SNAP-Ed Program is strictly educational and is operated as a joint project of Virginia Cooperative Extension, Virginia Tech, and the Virginia Department of Social Services. It is funded by Food Stamp Funds form Food and Nutrition Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture.
